• Good Eco-Justice News Report from John Putnam Feb. 10th, 2004:"By a bipartisan vote of 39-21, the Colorado House of Representatives this morning passed HB 1273,which establishes a renewable energy standard in Colorado. Consideration of this legislation now moves to the Colorado Senate.
  This legislation calls for the state’s two investor-owned utilities ( Excel Energy and Aquila) to provide 500 megawatts (MW) of power (capacity) from renewable energy sources by 2006, 900 MW by 2010 and I,800 MW by 2020. Proponents of HB 1273 note that this legislation will help provide stability to electricity rates in Colorado, create certainty in utility acquisition of future generation resources and boost rural economic development.?
